unzip it, and run Firemin.exe. That's it. There is no installation necessary or settings and options to set up.
However, Firemin does need to continuously run in the background while you are using Firefox for it to be useful, so you will need to make sure that it is doing that. Some s reported that it could also cause a bit of a lag as the program works by removing idle RAM and storing it until there is a need for it.
You would think that this would cause a significant delay when you try to do most things since there is a significant step added to your efforts when using Firefox. However, Firemin insists there is no change in speed, and if you do detect a change, you can adjust the U usage of Firemin. But this will ultimately bring the RAM consumption back up.
According to some reviewers, the software did as promised, and many saw a high reduction in memory usage almost immediately. However, one said the program wouldn't run for them as it was detected as unsafe by anti-viral software, while another said that despite their RAM going down, their Virtual Memory skyrocketed in Firefox.
The known issue of this is as your RAM drops dramatically, your activity on your hard drive and U usage grows drastically. So you need to determine which is more important for your needs and most effective in your work. From the Options of Firemin, the can adjust a sliding bar that controls the memory in Firefox and how it impacts the processing power of your system. If you slide it all the way to the left, you will be using the least amount of RAM but at the highest processing speed. If you move it to the right, your processing speed will be super fast, but your RAM will get eaten up once again.
